Pankaj Tripathi receives National Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor for Mimi; WATCH

Pankaj Tripathi received his award from President Droupadi Murmu as he won the award of Best Supporting Actor for his movie Mimi alongside Kriti Sanon.

National Award 2023: Pankaj Tripathi won Best Supporting Actor at the 69th National Film Awards on Tuesday for his work in the film “Mimi.” President Droupadi Murmu presented Tripathi with the medal during a ceremony at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan. Union Minister Anurag Thakur attended the ceremony and assisted President Droupadi Murmu in presenting the awards to the winners. Many other celebrities were also presented for the award ceremony and they also received awards for their performances.

The story of Mimi

‘Mimi,’ directed by Laxman Utekar, stars Kriti Sanon, Manoj Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak in major roles. ‘Mimi’ is about a young woman named Mimi (Kriti) who decides to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple in order to fund her ambition of becoming an actor. The biological parents, however, withdraw when they realize that the kid would be born with Down syndrome. Mimi subsequently decides to raise the child on her own, and as a single mother, she encounters several hardships and societal pressures. Her motherhood journey and battle to care for her child in the face of adversity are both uplifting and motivating.

Work Front

Tripathi recently appeared in the comedy film ‘Fukrey 3’ with Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Richa Chadha. He will also appear in the biopic ‘Main Atal Hoon’ on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film will concentrate around India’s adored leader, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was not just a politician but also a poet, a gentleman, and a statesman. He’ll also appear in Stree 2.
