Scam 2003 delivers such a gripping true story of Abdul Karim Telgi, who was the mastermind behind one of the biggest counterfeiting scams in India. Telgi was able to build a staggering Rs. 30000 crore empire by selling fake stamp papers in bulk to financial institutions like banks, stock brokerage companies, and insurance companies. He hired around 300 agents for this task and spread the business pan-India.
Telgi wasn’t born with a mind to scam people. He had very humble beginnings. He lost his father at a tender age and was forced to sell fruits and vegetables in trains to fund his education. Later, he left for Saudi Arabia as a new opportunity knocked on his door. After seven years upon his return was born the kingpin of the biggest counterfeiting scam.
