Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is running well at the box office and shattering records back-to-back- with its amazing performance. The film has crossed South Star Yash’s KGF 2 and reached another milestone as it crossed the Rs 400 crore mark. The film has surpassed the entire lifetime of KGF: Chapter 2 (Hindi) (434.70 crores) in just 16 days and is smashing a slew of box office records.
Sunny Deol’s film leaves KGF 2 behind
After falling into the single digits for two days, with Thursday and Friday, Gadar 2 returned to the double digits with 13.75 crores. When the Yash starrer was released last year, it was a lifeline for the business because viewers were simply not flocking to theatres. There were a few successes and films were fighting to even generate face-saving collections. KGF 2 alone entered the 100-crore club. While one cannot thank KGF: Chapter 2 enough for saving the business, Gadar 2 has now risen to third place, trailing only Baahubali: The Conclusion.
Will Gadar 2 make new records?
Pathaan (Hindi) (525 crores) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (511 crores). Both films are massive blockbusters and the sole members of the 500 Crore Club. While Gadar 2 will finally make it there and join the coveted club, it remains to be seen how far it can go. Just one week later, Gadar 2 will make another record as the speed it’s maintaining is just unbelievable.
