Rohit Shetty- Ranveer Singh’s flick fails to live upto expectations, stays low on day 2

Cirkus Box office collection Day 2: Cirkus is having a difficult time at the box office in India since, despite the Christmas holiday period, the movie’s sales on Saturday did not increase in any way. Cirkus is expected to collect between Rs. 6.50 and Rs. 7.25 crores on its second day, bringing the total to Rs. 13.25 crores, according to early projections. The Rohit Shetty film managed to collect in Rs. 6.50 crore on its first day.

Cirkus shows decline in collection

While the mass areas have already begun to show a decline in collections, the national multiplex chains have showed a gain of 10% on the second day until the evening shows. As the estimates suggest, the audience has rejected the movie, so it won’t be shocking if it doesn’t even benefit from the Sunday after Christmas holiday.

Cirkus’ performance is far below par, whether it be in mass areas or multiplexes. The two-day total for Cirkus is, smaller than the picture’s opening day gross because, given the presence of Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh, the film should have atleast opened to Rs. 15 crore.

The long-term performance of Cirkus will be determined by the hold on Monday, but it is safe to assume that the release of movies like Heropanti 2, Runway 34, Thank God, Ram Setu, and Cirkus during the three major holidays of Eid, Diwali, and Christmas has been disastrous for the Hindi film industry.

Rohit Shetty’s worst opening in ten years

Cirkus had Rohit Shetty’s worst opening in the previous ten years. Sooryavanshi, his most recent movie, had a double-digit opening weekend when it was released in theatres after the pandemic (Rs 26.29 cr.). Simmba, a 2018 film, made Rs 20.72 cr on its opening day. Golmaal Again (Rs 30.14 cr), Dilwale (Rs 21 cr), Singham Returns (Rs 32.09 cr), and Chennai Express (Rs 33.12 cr) all had outstanding box office openings.
