Ponniyin Selvan: Chiyaan Vikram talks about Cholas at Mumbai event, See Video here

Ponniyin Selvan: Actor Chiyaan Vikram is playing the lead role in the film. He plays Aditya Karikalan in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan. He stated that England and Europe were in the very dark ages, several feats were achieved by India. He went on to deliver a 2-minute-long monologue about the Cholas at the pre-release event of Ponniyin Selvan in Mumbai. Chiyaan Vikran also spoke about Tanjore Peruvudaiyar temple. The historic film is all set to release on September 30 and the makers are gearing up for a grand release. This film will release in multiple languages.

Vikram told about the achievements of Chol dynasty

Chiyaan Vikram stated that “Someone once said that we are appreciating a building that doesn’t stand straight, but we have many temples today that stand and they didn’t have plaster.” Talking about the Thanjavur temple, Vikram stated that a 6km ramp had to be built to bring a stone with the weight of several tones to place over the tower without the use of any crane or plaster. He added that the temple stood after six earthquakes.

Explaining the achievements of Raja Chozhan, Vikram said that the king built 5000 dams during his period. He gave loans to people, ran free hospitals also and held panchayat, kept women’s name for cities.
