Ranbir Kapoor: In his first public appearance following the birth of his child Raha, Ranbir Kapoor, was spotted with a thick beard and longer hair. He wore a white shirt and a blue check suit at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The actor discussed his mistake in the making of the movie Shershaah and the below average performance of his own film outside the event.
Ranbir opens up on Shamshera and Jagga Jasoos being flop
After a four-year absence, Ranbir made his screen debut with Shamshera. Prior to his well-received Brahmastra release in September of this year, it came out in July of this year. While calling it as his “hardest film” to ever work on, he said “It was a big box office disaster, but the biggest mistake I made on Shamshera was that I stuck on a beard. When you’re shooting in the heat, and you stick on a beard, it’s like your face is melting.”

Ranbir also discussed Jagga Jasoos, his 2017 movie starring Katrina Kaif, which he referred to as “another disaster.” Their hopes were not met at the box office because of the lengthy delay of the movie. Ranbir said, “It’s a film that I produced. It was a passion project. It was directed by Anurag Basu. It was a very heartwarming and sweet idea, but it didn’t do well, which really hurt,” and added, “That’s the only film in my career that hurt me.”
Ranbir mobbed by his fans
Ranbir Kapoor was mobbed by his fans as all rushed to meet him.
Several representatives of the Indian film industry are currently in attendance at the Red Sea International Film Festival. The festival’s opening film was Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge from 1995 starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia started last week, and attendees included Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra, and Sonam Kapoor in addition to Kareena Kapoor and her husband Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, veteran performer Shabana Azmi, and director Shekhar Kapur.
Ranbir speaks on Bollywood’s box office failure
In response to box office failure of many Bollywood films, he said “entire culture of going to a theater for a community viewing of a movie seems like it’s dying, and it’s only there for the big ticket films.”

However, he expressed confidence that it will soon recover with excellent storytelling.
Brahmastra, Ranbir’s most recent movie with wife Alia Bhatt, was the first project couple worked on together. The two fell in love when they started working on the movie a few years ago, and they eventually were married months before it was released. Raha, their daughter, was born a month ago.
