National Awards 2023: Karan Johar recently became a victim of online resentment from one of his colleagues, Vivek Agnihotri. ‘The Kashmir Files,’ directed by the widely acclaimed director Vivek Agnihotri won the Nargis Dutt accolade for best film on National Integration at the National Film Awards 2023. The director took to X (formerly called Twitter) to share pictures from the event. However, in one of the pictures, Karan Johar, who received the award for ‘Shershaah’ was visibly cropped out by Vivek.

The National Film Awards were as graceful as ever, embellished by the presence of several Bollywood stars, filmmakers, producers, etc. Many well-deserving stars were recognized for their efforts in the entertainment industry. Two of the winners who stirred up the entire internet were Vivek Agnihotri and Karan Johar.
Vivek Agnihotri received the Nargis Dutt recognition for his film, ‘The Kashmir Files.’ The director expressed his happiness on X (formerly called Twitter) by sharing pictures from the event. However, Agnihotri very visibly cropped out Karan Johar from one of the group pictures, showing only a little side portion of the filmmaker. Karan Johar also won an award for his film ‘Shershaah’. Vivek has expressed his resentment against ‘Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan cinema’ in the past. He reportedly stated that after the ‘Shehenshaah’ avatar of Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood stopped narrating proper stories.

Apart from this, Vivek shared three other pictures on his X (formerly called Twitter). Two of them captured the women winners while the third one was his selfie with the veteran actress Waheeda Rehman. He captioned the post ‘Such talent. Women Power.’ These two statements sent two different messages when considered with a visible cropping out of Karan Johar. In other words, maybe Vivek doesn’t seem to consider Karan Johar talented enough.
