The first episode of the eighth season of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ premiered Thursday, October 26th, at midnight. With Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone appearing together as a married couple for the first time, the program was likely to have some important revelations about their wedding. While the audience expected amazing chemistry from this ‘IT’ Bollywood pair, what we did not expect was the emotional outpouring that the program elicited.
Ranveer and Deepika revealed numerous significant details, including the moment Ranveer fell in love with Deepika, their romantic proposal, and Ranveer’s first encounter with Deepika’s parents. In fact, after so many years on the program, the couple even revealed their wedding video for the first time. To top it all off, Karan Johar revealed a lot about his life and love (as well as his mental health).
Ranveer spoke about falling in love with Deepika
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone fell in love in 2012. Ranveer shared the exact moment he fell in love with Deepika at one of the reading sessions for ‘Bajirao Mastani,’ their first film together. Ranveer said that Kareena Kapoor was supposed to be in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali picture, but she dropped out just a few days before filming began. Ranveer proposed Deepika’s name after seeing ‘Cocktail’ lately. He went on to say that she looked stunning in a white chikankari kurta on the first day she arrived at Bhansali’s Versova home for the reading session.
When Deepika requested Ranveer to clean a bit of crab lodged between her teeth, he sensed a connection. The actor claimed to have felt a shock after placing his pinky finger on a socket. Six months later, he knew Deepika was the one. Deepika, on the other hand, stated that she had dated other individuals but always felt drawn back to Ranveer.

Ranveer stated that he proposed to Deepika in 2015 and did so in the most stunning setting! He said that he purchased the ring “far beyond his means at the time,” even borrowing money from his relatives. He and Deepika were planning a trip to the Maldives. They went on a boat trip there, and when it was just the two of them in a ‘sliver of sand surrounded by sea all around,’ Ranveer took out the ring and proposed. He further claimed that Deepika was simply overcome with emotion as she unexpectedly said yes!

The difficult part was informing Deepika’s family of the news. The pair immediately flew to Bangalore, where the actress’s family lives. However, the event did not go as planned when Deepika announced her engagement while her family was with her close friends. Deepika’s mother, Ujjala, was less than happy. However, with time and Ranveer’s help, she has grown to adore him.

Ranveer and Deepika married at Lake Como, Italy, in 2018. Almost five years after their wedding, the couple finally released their wedding video on television for the first time. It’s simply a lovely and heartwarming video. Karan was overcome with emotion and cried happy tears as a result. He also talked about his life and how he longs for a mate. He described how, despite the presence of his mother and children, he feels a vacuum in his life.

Deepika Padukone also discussed how marriage requires ongoing labour. She said how she and Ranveer went through difficult times together but are always willing to listen to each other’s concerns. She also discussed the difficulties of being in the spotlight while working on her marriage. However, as predicted, this marriage has many positive aspects. Ranveer, she claims, helps her keep her inner kid alive. She also discussed how they spend their Saturday nights when no staff members are around. They trade playlists and share new music they’ve heard, only to wind up dancing till 4 a.m.!
