Amitabh Bachchan birthday: Amitabh Bachchan, one of the greatest actors of Indian film, will be 81 on October 11, 2023. The acclaimed actor has given us numerous great films throughout the course of his decades-long career. He is a favourite of filmmakers due to his personality and timeliness in the film industry. Apart from Indian directors, Big B has received accolades from Hollywood directors and performers. Let’s take a look at what the actors’ directors had to say about him.

Amitabh Bachchan is praised by Indian directors

Amitabh Bachchan has worked with several Indian directors throughout his career in the Indian film industry. His movies garner a lot of attention and he has been praised by the Indian directors. Several directors including Farhan Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, and Ram Gopal Verma showered praises on Big B. Goodbye director Vikas Bahl director also praised Big B and said, “While I was working on ‘Goodbye’, I saw him coming on set with curiosity like that of a newcomer in the industry, and this was every single day. He has that childlike curiosity, he wants to explore more even after achieving so much in his life and that’s what makes him a true legend.”

Hollywood directors praised Big B

Baz Luhrmann praised Big B in an interview with NDTV and said, “Amitabh Bachchan in my view is not only the Elvis of India but also the Marlon Brando of India. Tom Hanks is easily the Amitabh Bachchan of America and I mean it… I think about him and I think about Tom, they are so very similar. Amitabh would bring not just his performance to the set but also his energy, inspiration, and wisdom. I saw that on the sets of The Great Gatsby. I remember a moment between him and Leonardo and that was a quiet chat. I knew Leonardo felt that he was listening to wisdom and Tom did exactly that with Austin in Elvis. It’s so touching and so rare when an older actor is passing the baton to the new generation.”

Famous director Christopher Nolan also showered praises on him by saying, “I know how imperative it is that representatives of the film industry around the world come together to ensure that we preserve our film heritage. I want to congratulate Amitabh Bachchan on receiving the 2021 honour. He has played an essential role in putting the cause of film preservation on the map in India and the subcontinent.”
