Selena Gomez announces break from social media after seeing ongoing ‘violence and terror’ in the world; details

The newest famous person to jump on the bandwagon of celebrities offering their opinions on the continuing tension between Israel and Palestine is Selena Gomez. The Hollywood pop icon, who hasn’t been active on social media in a while, sent a moving message on Instagram denouncing the killings of innocent people, particularly children.

Selena Gomez apologizes to fans

At last, Selena Gomez has discussed the Israel-Palestine conflict. In addition to speaking out against prejudice and violence in society, Gomez stated in her post that she doesn’t think her post—despite having one of the highest followings on the Internet—will have any impact. She stated, “We need to protect all people, especially children, and stop the violence for good.” She also made a call for harmony and peace.

The singer said, “I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people, especially children and stop violence for good. I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t.”

Israel attacks North Gaza city

On Monday, October 30, three days after they launched a significant ground onslaught in the Palestinian enclave that sparked additional international calls for the protection of civilians, Israeli troops and tanks struck Gaza’s key northern city from both sides. In the past several days, Israel’s military has increased ground operations in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian residents are desperately in need of food, fuel, and clean water as the war moves into its fourth week. The military claimed to have targeted more than 600 militant targets.
