Suriya opts out of Bala’s Vanangaan; Arun Vijay replaces him

Suriya is no longer a part of Bala’s Vanangaan, as we are all aware. In a recent statement, the director said that Suriya chose to opt out after several adjustments were made to the movie. He also stated that the choice was made by mutual consent, although he was unsure if it would have fit Suriya’s temperament. But Arun Vijay has been cast in the lead role of Vanangaan, which was originally intended for Suriya.

Source told that Arun Vijay replaced Suriya

“Arjun Vijay quickly approved the project and he is really eager to work with Bala for the first time in his career. The crew is now planning to make an official announcement shortly, and the film is scheduled to start pre-production in January 2023”, a source familiar with the situation stated.

Krithi Shetty and Mamitha Baiju are also playing pivotal roles in the movie Vanangaan. While Mamitha Baiju will be portrayed as Arjun Vijay’s sister, Krithi Shetty will play the lead female actor.

Director Bala released statement

Director Bala released an official statement on his Twitter account. The statement read, “I wanted to direct a new movie called ‘Vanangan’ with my brother Suriya. But due to some changes in the story, I now have doubts whether this story will be suitable for Suriya. Surya has full faith in me and this story. It is also my duty as a brother that I should not cause even a small embarrassment to my younger brother who has so much love, respect and trust. So both of us have discussed and unanimously decided that Suriya will withdraw from the movie ‘Vanangan’. It was a decision he made in his best interest, even though he was deeply saddened by it. The Suriya I saw in ‘Nanda’, like the Suriya you saw in ‘Pidhamagan’, will definitely join us in another moment. Otherwise the shooting of ‘Vanangan’ will continue…”
