The song takes place when Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan (Karthi) and Kundhavai first meet in the royal boat. Many of their servants can be seen dancing and singing about the princess’s ideal boy, including Kundhavai, her friend Vaanathi (Sobhita Dhulipala), and others.
The song was sung by Rakshita Suresh, and was written by Krithika Nelson.
Fans are asking as to why this melody didn’t make it Ponniyin Selvan 1 in the song “Sol”‘s comments section. Along with it, Rakshita is showered with compliments. One user wrote, “Much awaited song of PS-1…missed in the big screen…mesmerizing songgg”, other one wrote, “really loved sobhitas performance in PS1 waiting for her full role in 2nd part…her expressions postures are perfect and cute”, another said, “most most favorite song…Trisha’s expressions are damn”. One said, “Rakshita crying inside and smiling happily outside. Mani sir, why did you even remove this beautiful masterpiece?”
Song’s importance in the story
Kundhavai and Vanathi might have been introduced in “Sol” if it had been included in the final cut as they make their way to or from an astrologer’s home (which has a major role in the book but wasn’t incorporated into the movie).
