Recently, the megastar opened up about his humble beginnings and how his parents brought him home in a ‘tonga’ when he was born.

The evening was decked with the presence of two of the most iconic personalities in recent times, Khan Sir and Zakir Khan. The famous stand-up comedian, Zakir Khan is a favorite of several youngsters. However, he has had a tough run considering his extremely humble beginnings.
On the other hand, the renowned teacher Khan Sir is known for his outstanding UPSC coaching classes, which he provides only for Rs. 200 per student. He faced heavy backlash for doing so from other centers. In one incident he was even bombed for charging his students so less. The beloved teacher was protected by his students in a heroic move as they all gathered around him. Never again was he troubled because of his conviction. Khan Sir feels a deep urge to help students with weak financial backgrounds and so he refuses to back down from his commitment toward investing in their bright future.
Amitabh Bachchan shares about parents’ humble beginnings on KBC 15
Moved by the remarkable conviction of Khan Sir, Big B revealed his parents’ humble state at the time of his birth. He shared on the show that his parents used to earn as little as Rs. 500 back then. They were so poor that they had to bring little Amitabh home in a ‘tonga’ covered in a homemade blanket. Big B also shared that he was nicknamed ‘gudri ka lal’ because of the way his parents brought him wrapped up in a blanket.
