AR Rahman gets a surprising message from The Academy Awards, details here

AR Rahman: Renowned musician AR Rahman is no stranger to the Academy Awards. The legendary artist has an Oscar connection this year as well after receiving two prizes in 2009 and being nominated in 2011. AR Rahman announced in a recent Instagram post that he had already voted in the renowned award’s 95th edition. Members of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences vote for the winners, who then present the prizes to the performers and technicians.

AR Rahman shares the screenshot on Instagram

AR Rahman shared a screenshot of mail on his Instagram account and The Academy wrote, “Thank you. Your ballot has been received.” With the post Rahman added the hashtag in the caption “theacademy”. As he shared the picture, people started showering love on his post through comments. One user wrote, “The legend of late nights 1:58 Am…wondering what next masterpiece is in making”, other said, “sir deserve”, another wrote, “thanks for sharing this wonderful message, another waiting…”

 

Following his appearance with superstar Rajinikanth at the Ameen Dargah in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, AR’s voting report comes few hours later. A follower on Twitter posted a video of AR Rahman and Rajinikanth being welcomed at the Dargah.

Rahman shares pictures from RSIFF on Instagram

AR Rahman recently had a performance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. He can be seen posing alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the pictures while performing on stage. He shared pictures on his Instagram account and wrote the caption, “Thank you Red Sea Film Festival Jeddah for being such an amazing host! All of us loved being there.”

AR Rahman achievements

AR Rahman won two Oscars for his contribution on the 2009 movie Slumdog Millionaire, including Best Original Score and Best Original Song (co-won with lyricist Gulzar). For his music in Slumdog Millionaire, he has also received Golden Globe and Grammy Awards.
