Adipurush’s Grand Gesture: Reserving Theatre Seats for Lord Hanuman

Adipurush: The makers of the highly anticipated film ‘Adipurush’, starring South superstar Prabhas, have announced a unique practice to honour Lord Hanuman during the film’s screening. As a tribute to Lord Ram’s greatest devotee, one seat will be kept empty in every theatre screening the mythological drama.

An Homage to the Greatest Devotee

The symbolic gesture is a nod to the belief that Lord Hanuman manifests wherever the Ramayana is recited. This led to the makers’ innovative decision to dedicate a theatre seat to him, as announced in their official statement. Directed by the talented Om Raut, the highly anticipated film stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. Fans can mark their calendars for the release of ‘Adipurush’ on June 16, as this epic cinematic experience is set to take audiences on a captivating journey.

Statement of Faith and Respect

The team behind ‘Adipurush’ expressed their belief in the omnipresence of Lord Hanuman, stating, “Lord Hanuman appears wherever the Ramayana is recited. Honouring this tradition, each theatre showcasing Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’, where he stars as Rama, has committed to keep one seat unoccupied in reverence for Lord Hanuman. The statement further emphasises their desire to pay homage to Lord Ram’s greatest devotee during the screening of the high-budget spectacle.

The Role of Lord Hanuman

In ‘Adipurush’, Lord Hanuman will be portrayed by renowned Marathi actor Devdatta Nage, while Prabhas plays the role of Lord Ram. The film is a retelling of the epic Ramayana and will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and other Indian languages including Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, marking a Pan-Indian release.

The film, made with a whopping budget of over Rs 500 crore, is expected to be a grand visual feast for audiences. In addition to the already impressive lineup, the series showcases Kriti Sanon in the role of Sita, Sunny Singh portraying Lakshman, and Saif Ali Khan taking up the mantle of the antagonist, Ravana. Despite initial challenges including backlash over its visual effects, the film has successfully revamped its VFX and is now eagerly awaited by viewers.
