Sridevi’s reactions to her dating life
Janhvi Kapoor recently talked about her dating experience in an interview with Filmfare. She mentioned that her parents, especially her mother Sridevi, were overly dramatic about it. They told her to come to them whenever she liked a guy so they could get her married. However, Janhvi clarified that not every guy she likes has to end up in marriage. Whenever she tried to explain this to Sridevi and asked her to relax about it, Sridevi would ask her to explain what she meant by “relax.”
When Sridevi talked about Janhvi’s marriage
In an interview with Filmfare, Sridevi talked about how she initially had doubts about her daughter Janhvi’s desire to become an actress but eventually realized that her daughter’s happiness was the most important thing. She said, “She wanted to do the film and initially, I wasn’t in favour. I don’t think it’s a bad industry. I am a creation of this world. But, as a parent, it would give me greater joy to see her married. But her happiness matters more, and if she does well as an actor, I will be a proud mother.”
She also spoke fondly about both of her daughters and how they were honest and supportive of each other. Sridevi said, “I’m closer to Janu and Khushi is closer to Boney ji. But we’re honest with each other and extremely close. Khushi is far more independent than Janhvi. Till today, every morning when Janhvi wakes up, the first thing she says is ‘Mama chahiye!’ But Khushi will say ‘Koko chahiye!’ Koko is her pet. Khushi and Boney ji gang up against Janu and me all the time.”
Janhvi’s argument with Sridevi
Janhvi Kapoor is proving her acting skills with back-to-back movies but it wasn’t easy for her to choose acting as Sridevi didn’t want her to be an actress. During a chat show with Anaita Shroff Adajania, Janhvi revealed that she has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember, stating that it was always her dream.
Janhvi also shared a personal anecdote about a disagreement she had with Sridevi which led to her crying. She remembered this incident, saying, “This happened a little after I told mom I wanted to act. We had an argument about something and I started crying a lot.” Sridevi responded positively to her crying, saying, “You look good when you cry. It’s good for an actor. I feel bad for you.” However, Janhvi responded, “Mom, you really need to feel bad for me, not from an actor’s point of view.”
