Jiah Khan Case Verdict: Sooraj Pancholi acquitted in suicide case, declared innocent by the court

Jiah Khan Case: The verdict in the Jiah Khan suicide case has come and Sooraj Pancholi has been declared innocent by the Special Court of CBI. The Court has released Sooraj from the charges due to the non-availability of evidence in this case. After almost ten years, the court finally gave its verdict.

Jiah Khan’s mother had interacted with the media before the verdict came. She said, “Let’s see what verdict the court gives after ten years. I wish that truth prevails. Jiah Khan did not take her own life, we have been proving this for ten years on the basis of facts. Now it is up to the court to make the right decision.”  

Jiah Khan Suicide Case

For the unversed, Jiah Khan was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her Mumbai apartment on June 3, 2013. At the spot, the police found a 6-page letter purportedly written by Jiah Khan. In that letter, Jiah mentioned her ‘toxic relationship with Sooraj Pancholi’, ‘physical and mental abuse’, and more.

Sooraj Pancholi was charged under section 306 (abetment to suicide) and Mumbai police arrested him on June 10, 2013. He was granted bail on July 3, 2013.
