Janhvi Kapoor, an actress, has spoken about growing up as a celebrity child in today’s paparazzi society. Janhvi said in an interview with Newslaundry that paparazzi cameras have always been a part of her life and that since infancy, people have taken photographs of her and her sister Khushi Kapoor with or without her knowledge. When Janhvi was a teenager, she discovered modified photographs of herself on an ‘inappropriate, almost pornographic website’.

Janhvi, the daughter of late star Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, told Newslaundry that there has been an inflow of bogus photographs, especially with today’s superior AI (artificial intelligence). “People see these manipulated images and think they’re real. That deeply concerns me.”
She recalls being just ten years old when she realized the harmful impact of her internet presence. As a fourth-grade student, she said she visited her school’s computer lab one day to discover paparazzi photographs of herself on Yahoo’s homepage, flashing across her classmates’ computer screens. She told Newslaundry that she looked ‘very uncomfortable’ and ‘ungroomed’ in the images, despite the fact that she was ‘being launched’ in the film business.

She made her acting debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, which co-starred Ishaan Khatter and was a Hindi version of the 2016 Marathi film Sairat. Janhvi appeared in Zoya Akhtar’s portion of the Netflix horror anthology film Ghost Stories in 2020. She later starred as Gunjan Saxena in the biopic Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. Good Luck Jerry (2022) and Bawaal (2023) are two of her previous flicks.
